High Mountain Hike

Tuesday, December 6, 2011 Posted by Dana J.
Two weekends ago, we decided to take a nice little Sunday afternoon hike, up a nice mountain range, literally miles away from where we live; we can see it out our window. That weekend was "unseasonably warm" (60's), so we decided to take advantage. The hike all-in-all is 6.1 miles, we probably did close to 2 miles, which was pretty good, considering the kids walked 99% of the time.

As you can see, the trees are all naked. It's hard to find any (non-pine tree) with leaves on. It's kind of sad to see all the beautiful colors gone now, but there is something sort of beautiful with the leafless trees too.

We walked past many small streams, saw tons of beautiful birds & several groups of deers grazing.
It's great to get out & see the nature!
