Aubree's FIRST Soccer Game!

Go Team Blue!!!

Today, was seriously one of the most fun days we've ever had, since living in New Jersey (well, I'll speak for myself here, it was one of MY most enjoyable days!). We signed Aubree up for an Introduction to Soccer club & there were about 100 Kindergarten girls who joined.

So, there are 10 teams... I wanted to be a coach, but when I offered to be an assistant - I guess they thought that was crazy to have a female (Mother) coach on the field, so they signed up Garrick to be Assistant coach... Which is actually, just so funny to me!! Because, I played soccer for 10+ years & I don't even think Garrick has watched a whole soccer game in his life... yet, he's the Asst. Coach - which adds more to the whole humor of sixteen 5-year olds running around like a clueless herd of cattle & watching Garrick trying to "coach" the girls!

So, I laughed - like out loud, laughed the WHOLE game (well in between calling the ref out for his lack of calling of offsides (I guess they don't call that penalty in Kindergarten soccer), yelling "defense" and trying to encourage Aubree to WATCH THE BALL!). But, it was so fun & we met a lot of really nice people!

Aubree played against her friend (and neighbor), Sophia - the cute blond, in the pink shorts. So, it was fun to already know someone on the field...

Oh, and by the way... The got dominated!
0-8 (...or 10, but who's counting anyway??)

Aubs is #3....

Aubree's new wheels...

Aubree got hooked up with a new set of wheels for her 5th Birthday...
This is Aubree's second Power Wheels & third car... Pretty good for only being 5! :)

I'm sure no family member will ever again buy her such a nice vehicle, it'll be tough to compare any other car to it in the future! Hahaha... I'm kidding, but the kids have had an absolute blast riding it around the garage, driveway & neighborhood.

The car is even hooked up with an awesome sound system that can get the local radio stations - the kids choose to jam out to some country music as they cruised the streets...

Oh, btw - this isn't fun.... It's business as usual for these serious looking kids! :)
Little silly B (aka The Cabbage Patch Kid - doesn't she look like one??) even got in on the action & thought it was one big party, screaming the whole time!
Oh good, I'm glad I got at least one smile in a picture... they really do love it! :)
Thank you Gammie Gam & Papa Said for the nice car! :)

Aubree's 5th Birthday...

Last Tuesday, our girl Aubree turned FIVE!!
It was mostly uneventful because all the kids got sick with that famous "back to school cold". But, Aubree had a really fun time, her Gammie-Gam LoVida came up for the weekend, we ate lots of cake, decorated the house, cooked a special breakfast & went out to dinner. Aubree got so many sweet cards & gifts in the mail - thank you everyone for thinking of our sweet girl! :)

We did do something that I thought was pretty special - we repeated something that we did on Aubree's first Birthday, we went to Toys R Us where Aubree got to be the special birthday kid at the store. They announced her name on the intercom & everyone was saying "Happy Birthday" to her! :) I thought it was cool because LoVida & I took her to do that same thing... 4 years ago! :)

Here's the (sick) Birthday Girl... FIVE years old!!!
 2008 & then in 2012...
And over the last few years...

Happy Birthday Aubree!!

Kindergarten... Here we come!

Last Thursday was Aubree's first day of Kindergarten.

She was sooooo excited! I was really proud of her, she shed no tears, blew us a kiss goodbye... and off she went!

We all felt a little lost after we dropped her off. Preston kept asking "where's sissy?" every 15 minutes & things just didn't feel quite the same without her. When the time came, we were all so excited to go pick her up!!

Aubree came out of school & said she looooved it!! She told me every single detail of her day, about all the friends she made, and she told me all the class rules. She said that she wants to go every day & that she NEVER wants to be at home anymore (nice, huh? Hahaha!) - it was in stark contrast to all her "I'll NEVER leave you Mommy! I will ALWAYS stay with you!" over the summer - here we go.... But, she finally agreed to stay home on the weekends, (as if she has a choice). :)

I think this year will be a really good one for her & for me... I signed up for the PTO/PTA (Parent Teacher Organization) & offered my services as "Class Parent". I plan on getting very involved in all the school & class parties/events/book sales/fundraisers... I think it's these activities that I really need right now to kick up my NJ social skills! :) No more me, being a hermit! Hahahaha! :)

Aubree has been ready for this day for a LONG time!!!
In front of school & saying goodbye to us!
