I LOVE the little details God gave you...

Tuesday, March 2, 2010 Posted by Dana J. 0 comments

So last night was rough... Preston refused to go to bed until past 2am, and Aubree was up at the crack of dawn. I figured I'd get that combination one of these days! :)

The good news was I got to lay in bed with my littles all the way until the late morning... The sky was dreary & the bed was cozy.
I guess since the little man didn't get much sleep last night, he's catching up on his zzzz's today - too bad I can't seem to do the same....

....this ones got other plans for me!

My Little Ones

Monday, March 1, 2010 Posted by Dana J. 1 comments

P... I love your precious little mouth, your little nose..

...your tiny little hands that wrap around my fingers, your peaceful sleeping face...the way you smell & the way you feel

I will have to remember to cherish these moments forever!

I can't even explain how lucky I feel to have these two little ones in my life. Aubree is a dream older child, cracking me up effortless, talking (sometimes more than what's manageable) & little Preston can't be sweeter. He has his moments... But he can't seem to get enough of just being loved & cuddled. He'd be beyond happy if he's just held every moment of every day! And I'd do it...
But then there's this one...

Aubree... You're too much! :)
I love you more than life!! You amaze me with all your new words. You make me so proud that you use "please", "thank you", "you're welcome" & "God Bless you" without me even asking anymore. I love that you tell me you love me everyday, that you make plans with me for the next day, each night. These are the things I can never allow myself to forget...

I love you baby!

Finally Moved into our place...

Thursday, February 11, 2010 Posted by Dana J. 2 comments
Well, we've been moved in for awhile, however a couple months ago I went through my "nesting" stage & finally unpacked the rest of the boxes we had shoved in closets & whatnot. Here's the place that we'll be living in until May 2011. We have a guest room,
so we hope to have guests come visit!! :)

Time to start this up again...

First, I have to say... God is good!!! He has truly blessed our life so much! So much has happened since my last post, the most significant thing by far is we are now a family of four, which almost all of you know by now. Preston Matthew seems to fit in great & is just the sweetest little guy I could have ever imagined. He's a Mama's Boy & I couldn't be happier about that. He loves to be held, cuddled & never be too far away from Garrick or me.

I feel that we have settled into Gainesville pretty well. God has blessed us with some amazing people here in Gainesville. Garrick's classmates & their spouses/significant others are just the most amazing, supportive people. We feel so grateful to have these friendships. Garrick is now in the first quarter of his second semester & he's doing well in his classes. His main concern has been getting a summer internship... And we should be finding out if he'll have one very soon. For now, we've just been praying that God will continue to bless our lives, as He has been for years now! :)

I feel like our marriage is so strong right now, having both Aubree & Preston in our lives has just really added so much more love into our lives. It's funny, sometimes you think adding a new family member can pull at the love you already have, but when adding a new child, it also adds more love than you thought existed. It's great having the love & support of Garrick... especially when there are so many stresses of living a student life... again, another blessing from God!

As usual, Aubree continues to amaze me! She learns so much each day & her vocabulary just blows me away!! Where does she learn all these words?? It's funny to think there is this little person just listening to every word you say & when you least expect it... it comes out of her mouth! We listen to a lot of music, dance often, read, play in her bedroom & I hate to admit it... but we watch our fair share of TV, mostly "Dora the Explorer", "Diego" & "Sesame Street". The Dora/Diego shows are pretty awesome because Aubree is learning a little Spanish. She can count to ten in Spanish & will say a few other words.

My days have been a little hectic since Preston's arrival, but I have really been savoring these precious moments of laying in bed with Aubs & P, snuggling with them, watching Aubree kiss P & hold him. Watching Preston smile & giggle in his sleep... moments that melt my heart! Watching Garrick look at his son in the most adoring way & watching him playing with Aubree. I really realize now, more than ever that God's timing is much better than our timing. God knew the perfect time to bring Preston into our lives & of course also when he brought Aubree into our lives.

Some pictures....

.... She took it very seriously! :)

(Doesn't want to "mess it up")

One of our favorite things to do is walk through Paynes Prairie (an amazing state park with hundreds of wild gators & other wildlife), we've been about 4 times now, it's just a 10 min. drive from our house.

(Our adventurist friend Adam got pretty close to the gators (one time just 3 feet away)... I thought I'd go into labor early if he got too close to one more gator!!! Haha!)

Jahmin & Aubree are buddies

Florida vs. Charleston Southern (game 1)

With no surprise, Gators beat the Bucs 62-3. Pretty much the game went like this, touchdown, after touchdown, after touchdown for the Gators!

Walking into one of the many & the least crowded student gates:
Aubree cheering on her Gators:

Aubree & I just attended our first Florida Football game & had the best time ever. Garrick would go to some games back in the 80's when he was a little boy... So, this wasn't his first.

Aubree was dancing, clapping, cheering, doing the Gator Chomp & saying "Go Gay-Gays" (Go Gators) over & over again. She loved the noise, all the people & the commotion. I enjoyed the game also... I just wasn't able to watch much of it because of Aubree & also it was HOT!!!! I was so hot, I kept feeling nauseous & had to sit down... The undergrad students don't ever sit down, they stand for three hours straight, oh to be 18 again! :) Haha... j/k I should just say, Oh to not be pregnant! :) We were originally sitting with the undergrads & then moved to our "old people" section - our fellow late 20's MBA people -aka: the sitters! :)

We had fun & I know Aubree went to bed tonight & is dreaming of Orange, Blue & Albert... And Garrick is probably wishing he didn't drink so much....right about now!

Tailgating in the quad w/ the MBA group & wearing her FAVORITE dress, if you haven't noticed!

Marching Band going through the campus

Our seats... Student section, $10 a pop, can't beat it!

Having SO much fun!!!

Leaving the stadium & going to get Garrick a two pound burger (really!)
